FAQ’s
-
Your DJ also serves as your MC and helps guide the flow of the reception. We handle grand introductions, key announcements, special moments and transitions while working from the timeline you have built with your planner and vendor team. The goal is to keep the evening moving naturally without making the celebration feel over-scripted or centered on the DJ.

Every wedding is planned around the couple. After booking, you will receive access to our online planning portal where you can share music preferences, must-play songs, play-if-possible selections, do-not-play songs, special dances and other reception details. You can also share or import Spotify playlists. We use that direction as the foundation, then read the room in real time to build energy around you and your guests.
-
Absolutely. Your planning portal gives you a place to identify the songs that matter most to you and anything you do not want played. Guest requests can be considered during the reception, but your preferences and the overall direction you established during planning always come first.
-
Yes. Ceremony coverage can include ceremony music, professional sound and wireless microphone support. Our standard ceremony setup is designed to cover the officiant and an additional microphone need, with handheld microphones and musician audio options available when the ceremony requires them. We will confirm the exact setup during planning based on your venue, ceremony layout and participants.
-
Yes. Wireless microphone support for reception toasts, speeches and announcements is part of our professional reception setup. We also coordinate microphone use with the planner or venue team so speakers know when and where to be ready.

After booking, you will receive access to your DJ Mason Music Planning Portal. It is your central place for event details, planning forms, music requests, introductions, timeline information and updates. As the wedding gets closer, we review your completed details and schedule a final planning meeting - typically by Zoom about two weeks before the wedding - to walk through the celebration together. The portal closes 72 hours before the event so we can finalize preparation.
-
Yes. Collaboration is a major part of the experience. We regularly coordinate with planners, venues, photographers and other vendors to align the reception flow, special moments, sound needs and timing. On the wedding day, we stay flexible and adjust when the timeline changes so the celebration continues to feel seamless.
-
Arrival time is based on the event schedule, venue access and the amount of equipment needed. For weddings, we generally plan to arrive well before guests so there is time for load-in, setup, sound checks and coordination with the venue or planner. Ceremony-and-reception events commonly require approximately two hours of advance setup, with additional time added when logistics call for it.
-
Your quotation and agreement are designed to make the scope of your wedding clear before you book. Standard setup and teardown for the contracted services are planned into the event, and any special travel, venue, power or logistical requirements that affect the quote are discussed in advance. We do not want couples discovering surprise event-day charges.
-
Clean edits are our default, especially earlier in the celebration. If a couple wants original or explicit versions later in the reception, we can discuss that preference during planning as long as it is appropriate for the event and permitted by the venue. Your music direction is documented before the wedding so everyone is on the same page.
-
Yes. We regularly support outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Outdoor setups require a safe, level location, access to appropriate power and protection from direct rain or other weather exposure. We also recommend having a weather contingency plan with your venue or planner. When conditions change, we coordinate with the vendor team and adjust the setup as needed.

DJ Mason Music offers digital photo booth experiences, a premium printed-photo experience and a 360 video booth option. Digital experiences are built around instant sharing, while the printed-photo experience is configured for physical keepsakes. Because the booth is configured differently for each format, digital sharing and printing are not offered simultaneously during the same event.
-
Yes. Cold spark experiences and select event enhancements can be added to create memorable visual moments such as introductions, first dances, exits or finales. Availability and placement depend on the venue, event layout and approval of the location, so we coordinate the details before the wedding.
-
DJ Mason Music serves weddings throughout Central Alabama and North Georgia, including Birmingham, Auburn, Greater Atlanta and North Metro Atlanta. We also consider weddings and special events beyond those areas based on date, location and event logistics.
-
Every wedding inquiry is personally reviewed. We first confirm the event details and availability, then share the next steps and the DJ Mason Wedding Experience Guide so you can explore the experience and collections in more detail. If the date and event are a fit, we prepare your agreement. Once the agreement is signed, your wedding is booked and the booking deposit is the next step.
